मैं ईद कैसे मनाऊं
मेरा चांद बादलों की ज़द में खोया हुआ हैं
बादलों के घने पहरों की बंदिश में
जकड़ा हुआ हैं कहीं दूर कहीं छुपा हुआ है।
उम्मीद की एक किरण की आस में
बिजलियों की कड़कती गड़गड़ाहट में
गिरते आंसुओं की बूंदों में सहमे हुए हैं
सहमे सहमे राह तक राह हैं उस रोशनी का
जो इन काले बादलों के पहरों को हटाकर
उसकी ज़िन्दगी में एक नई रोशनी भर दे
मैं ईद कैसे मनाऊं
मेरा चांद बादलों की ज़द में खोया हुआ हैं
How can I celebrate Eid,
when my moon is lost in the grip of clouds?
Trapped within the prison of dark watchful skies,
hidden somewhere far, concealed from my sight.
In the hope of a single ray of light,
amid the thunder’s fierce roar,
within the trembling drops of falling tears,
the path awaits—hesitant, silent—
for that light
which will tear through these black veils of clouds
and fill his life with a new radiance.
How can I celebrate Eid,
when my moon is lost in the grip of clouds?
