पुराने ताल्लुक़ को ऐसे ही नहीं तोड़ा जाता
रिश्तों में खटास है तो क्या, नहीं छोड़ा जाता
ज़िन्दगी के सफ़र में कितने लोग मिलते हैं
लेकिन हर किसी से रिश्ता नहीं जोड़ा जाता
कुछ लोग ऐसे ही गुज़र जाते हैं ज़िन्दगी से
किसी का ज़िंदगी भर साथ नहीं छोड़ा जाता
वक़्त का पहिया सीधा चल रहा है, चलने दो
बेवजह जानबूझ कर उसे यूँ नहीं मोड़ा जाता
कुछ रिश्ते बे-तकल्लुफ़ होते हैं, कोई बात नहीं
कुछ रिश्तों में कभी पाँव का रोड़ा नहीं जाता
आसमान में कुछ परिंदे हरकत-सी कर रहे हैं
लेकिन ज़मीं वालों को ऐसे नहीं छोड़ा जाता
Old Bonds
Old bonds are not broken
just like that.
Even if there is bitterness in a relationship,
it is not simply abandoned.
How many people do we meet
on the journey of life,
but a bond is not formed
with everyone.
Some people simply pass through our lives,
but not everyone’s companionship
is left behind for a lifetime.
The wheel of time is moving straight,
let it keep moving.
It should not be deliberately turned
without a reason.
Some relationships are informal,
and that is okay.
In some relationships,
one never becomes a stumbling block.
Some birds in the sky
seem to be making a commotion,
but the people on the ground
are not simply left alone.
