I AM AN INDIAN MUSLIM.

My India Is Great

Undoubtedly, my India is great.

The happiness I feel when I say that I belong to a Muslim family is immense.

But I feel even more proud when I say, with my head held high—

I AM AN INDIAN MUSLIM.

I thank the Almighty millions of times for blessing me with the opportunity to be born on the soil of India.

My life, my love, and everything I have was always dedicated to my motherland, is dedicated today, and will remain dedicated forever—InshaAllah.

My relationship with this country has never been merely a relationship with a piece of land. It has always been an emotional bond. I love this soil, I belong to this air, and the tricolour is a part of my identity.

But sadly...

My very existence seems unacceptable to some people driven by political interests.

Every now and then, someone comes forward demanding proof of my patriotism.

But I do not need to obtain a certificate of patriotism from anyone.

Neither from some random person,
nor from any politician.

My country is not a political issue for me. It is my identity.

Today, wherever we look, we see politics everywhere.

Politics in the barber shop, politics at the tea stall,
politics in every street and every corner,
politics in marketplaces and at every crossroads.

We all know that rotis are cooked on a hot griddle, but gentlemen...

Do not turn the entire country into a hot griddle just to cook your political bread.

Do not heat this country so much that, for the sake of a few slogans and promises, one human being begins to see another human being as an enemy.

How long will this political drama continue?

Politicians come onto stages, deliver speeches, throw mud at one another, and then leave.

Another politician immediately prepares to respond to them.

But who is ultimately affected by these speeches?

Our young people.

Sometimes our youth become so influenced by political rhetoric that they forget to ask themselves a simple question—

The person whom we consider our enemy today may have been sitting beside us yesterday, sharing a cup of tea.

The person we have lived alongside for years can suddenly become someone we are taught to hate.

And when a mob takes someone's life, we often discover later that the person who claimed to be our political leader had simply come, played his political game, and left.

Who dies?

An ordinary human being.

Who cries?

A mother.

Whose home is destroyed?

A family.

And politics?

It simply moves on to find its next issue.

Sadly, news continues to appear every day about innocent people becoming victims of mobs, about mob lynchings, and about lives being lost because of rumours and hatred.

Seeing such news every day frightens mothers too.

A fear settles deep inside their minds—

"My son left home in the morning. Will he return safely in the evening?"

And honestly, their fear is not without reason.

Because we have reached a point where everyone has begun looking at everyone else with suspicion.

This suspicion is not only creating distance between people; it is also weakening the foundation of our society—a foundation that has been strengthened for generations by brotherhood and humanity.

But even in such difficult times, one hope is still alive—

The power of the pen.

They say that a journalist's pen and camera can be more powerful than a killer's gun.

But there is one condition—

The pen and the camera must not be in the hands of those who have been bought.

A journalist's responsibility is not to support a political party. It is to bring the truth before the people.

A journalist must understand that a single word can either set society on fire or help an innocent person receive justice.

Considering the sensitivity of the present times, we need journalists who can rise above fear and write the truth—journalists who stand with the truth, not with the crowd.

Because when politics crosses its limits, when hatred becomes greater than humanity, and when a mob begins to act as a court—

an honest pen can become the last voice of humanity.

I am a Muslim, and I am proud of it.

I am an Indian, and I am even more proud of it.

And for me, there is no conflict between these two identities.

I AM AN INDIAN MUSLIM.

My patriotism does not need anyone's certificate.

My love for my country is not the property of any political party.

And my India...

MY INDIA IS GREAT.
