On my lips, I always keep Your mention and thoughts,
I remember Your Prophet in blessings and prayers.
I begin with Bismillah, in Your name,
You have saved me from every difficulty,
O Lord, You have protected me from every calamity.
Kullahu Allahu Ahad — You are One,
Allah-us-Samad — You are the Eternal Refuge,
Lam Yalid — You begot not,
Wa Lam Yulad — Nor were You begotten,
And indeed, Lam Yakul Lahu Kufuwan Ahad — there is none comparable to You.
Yet, You have kept me in Your remembrance,
O Lord, You have protected me from every calamity.
My body is like dust,
I would have long turned to ashes,
But You have kept me in Your shelter,
O Lord, You have protected me from every calamity.
My deeds are not all that virtuous,
Not perfect, not always right,
Yet You have kept me in my mother’s prayers,
O Lord, You have protected me from every calamity
